Pay it out of pocket and avoid the insurance company. These guys always get even.
Bingo. We have a winner. I booked a Ford Rear Window with slider and defroster at Safelite for Wednesday. At $525 with Costco discount I didn't want to risk issues with insurance.
5 months ago we had our 2019 Nissan Leaf totaled by an uninsured driver. Stare farm paid out $60,000 between the car, hospital, ambulance and doctor visits. State Farm shows 2 claims for that accident, one for collision and the other fir uninsured motorist for the medical bills. SF was great handling the claims. They were also very generous with the totaled car payout so we are now driving a 1 year newer replacement.
Well, I guess that depends on how hard you flogged her.
Regardless of whether I was in or out of the truck if my wife took out the back window I would kick my own **** for not stopping her before any damage was done. If I was the op I think I'd velcro a whoopee cushion on the two front corners of the RV to give a little warning for next time.
You may want to have an "off the record" chat with your agent first..........
I thought about doing do that. The agent is real good at giving good advice but for $500 I’m not keen on taking the chance that reporting this could come back to bite me.
Several years ago I had a crook break the passenger glass on my 300ZX and steal the radio out of it. A few months later some A-hole backed into the car in a parking lot while I was sitting in it. I got his info and he said he wanted to pay for it without insurance. When he found out how much it was he changed his mind. I called my agent and he said file with the other guys insurance and he would take the info in his desk drawer in case the other company didn’t pay. He said if he reported it to my company, Ven I t hey d I’d not pay. there was a chance I would be dropped since this would be the 3rd incident in a few months. The first incident counted as 2 claims, one for the broken window and the other for the stolen radio.
This is why I’m hesitant to report a $500 incident a few months after SF paid out over $60,000 on a not at fault hit and run claim. . I can easily afford the $500 and eliminate possibility of being cancelled or rates being raised.
While I hate to say you were lucky, you were very lucky.....
Usually when a 5er is pulled with a short box and the trailer hits the cab, its usually substantial damage done beyond the glass.
I know it sucks, but you were lucky.
I had just posted on another thread about why I spend the money on an expensive Pullrite Superglide.
I too am a Grand Design's owner, but I have a Momentum. Hopefully there was no damage done to the trailer.
Be careful and have fun - at least no one was hurt, things can be replaced.
The repair turned out perfect. I found that Costco has a Safelite negotiated discount pricing. Total price for the rear window with slider and defroster was $571.36 with all fees and taxes for an OEM glass installed. Costco, saved me about $130. Lifetime warranty on the installation.
I went to their shop to get it installed. It took 1 hour from time I arrived until it was installed. They vacuumed up all broken glass pieces and even washed the rear of my windows.
I was very happy with the repair and it doesn’t show up in CarFax as a claim.
This is me testing a 2020 Solitude 380FL, with my 21 Crew Cab Short Box and a Demco Autoslider. I got under 70 degrees before I got within two sheets of paper. I will not be buying that Solitude, and will be getting a traditional width trailer instead of a 102" wide body. Too Close

There is some serious pucker factor going on there. I don't think I would have ever let a trailer get THAT close to my cab.
What do you know about the camera that is mounted under the orange running light?

I took my time and backed up an inch or two, hopped out, checked, repeat. But I was surprised at how close that was.
And yes, that camera is part of the Furrion system. This one had four cameras, two side marker cams, a back up cam on the rear of the trailer, and one on the "porch" light above the door.
I want to use your photo on the forums when the Turning Point pinbox discussions come up. I'm pulling the GD Reflection 295RL using the Turning Point with a Reese plate and have gotten 90 degrees. No, I don't have any trailer sway (before you ask).
