Viper remote start issues
I bought a 05 Excursion limited that already came with a viper remote start but no remotes. I bought a replacement viper remote on amazon and it almost works properly. It will crank and start but them dies and repeats 3 times. I got the truck bullet proofed recently so something may have changed during that process but I need to know how to tell the viper the truck is running after it starts because I don't think it knows its running. The model is 791xv viper, thanks for any assistance you can provide!

The system needs input for timing or spark, not sure where they are picking this up on a diesel, on a gasser it would can be at the back of the tach in the dash or a couple places under the hood depending on a distrubuter or coils situation.
There are also settings that are adjustable in the viper system, you may have to redo the programming if the system was down for an extended period of time for the engine work. it may not be programmed at all. In the programming there is an option to bypass the timing/spark input and just run the engine.
