OK think about this for a little bit.
You know why it is installed on new cars & trucks only? EFI
Unless you have EFI on the truck it will never start.

Why you ask? You have to move the throttle to set the choke.
Most of the time you push the pedal to the floor 1 maybe 2 times and then try and start it.
If you don't set the choke the motor will never start.
Some times the choke will not pull off and you need to hit the throttle to clear it or kick it off fast idle.
Running at a fast idle for to long can over heat the cat. When driving you have air flow around the cat to keep it cooler.

Then I don't know if the truck is an auto, easier to do remote start, or stick.
How will the system know if the truck is in or out of gear and is safe to try and start?

IT is my take on this and I don't have any thing with remote start and I lived 55 years in CT and it got cold & snowy

If you are looking for rapid heat try using a block or tank type engine heater and some seat heaters. If you really want remote start as FF2 says you need a FI kit first.

You could probably rig some sort of solenoid to the throttle linkage to set the choke and shoot a bit of gas down the throat. Maybe get a remote start system that has a trunk release to have a discreet circuit? My concern would be more on getting the high-idle cam down.... remote start a typical '70s Ford motor and in about 3-4 minutes it will be idling at really higher RPMs than you want.

JC Whittney use to sell a remote start for carb'd vehicles many years ago. Could try them.

Just hit the discreet circuit again.
