There's a google search for you so you have a idea of clutch prices.
Is this something your going to replace or pay the man ?
This is something I may end up selling the truck for. I know it’s not hard to do and I definitely could do it but I also know my piston rings are fried (fresh oil that already reeks of gasoline) and I’m not willing to put anymore money into this piece.
Oh, dear. Just saying, do you use the truck very often ? if there's no added value to having a old truck that runs well, then may be your right not to bite the bullet and spend some money on it.
I have my dad's truck, I don't use it much, to be honest it cost me more to keep it then the use I get out of it, BUT, I have a truck to use when I want it, BUT we did put a Ford create motor in it back in 1991, that engine has 43,000 miles on it...at least the property tax is cheap on it and no emissions test in my state over 25y/o.

There's lots of support for these trucks...
yeah I don’t have a lot of need for this truck. I just wanted to advance my skills in fixing up the old stuff stuff and believe me I’ve gained plenty of knowledge from this truck. The person before me engine swapped it and they used the parts they had laying around so this thing is a certified franken truck that had been a pain to find and pay for the parts. We’ll see though. Thanks for the help.
It looks really wet in the clutch area and it should not so the rear main seal looks to be leaking.
This can be changed out when the clutch is changed out.
Also being a 81 it has clutch linkage.
When I got my 81 the linkage was a mess, all the connection holes were egg shape and the rods were almost wore through.
The cross shaft or Z bar has plastic bushings on the frame & motor side and they can break and fall out.
Between the wore out connections and the plastic bushings being bad I was shocked the clutch worked at all.
I had to rebuild it all to get it back like the factory had it.
One part, motor Z bar pivot, you could not get any more so I have to repair what I had left.
First fix broke just moving the truck in / out of garage.
Second fix broke on my first failed test drive pulling in my drive with no brakes!
So far with about 5000 miles it is staying in place but I have also found a NOS on ebay as a back up.
