Hey folks. Drove the truck all morning, went out after lunch no start. Have juice, trying to narrow the problem down.I can start it with a remote starter off the relay. So i'm thinking the actuator on the column. How much juice goes to the relay? I put a meter in line to the relay and get a slight half volt bump when I turn the key, but nothing when I turn to start. Sound like the actuator? Oh yeah, the rod to the actuator is moving.

you should get 12 Volts... the Current(Juice) depends on the resistive load of the solenoid coils and can only be measured inline not passive unless you have a DC clamp on ammeter.
could be stripped gear tooth or broke actuator ... could even be the switch is coming apart....
I was up inside with my hand. Not coming apart, but I can't see it. I put a meter inline from the red wire(ignition) to the post on the relay
. Clamped the leads on and turned the key. Got a blip then nothing when I turned the key all the way

quite welcome.... I'm just kinda used to many not knowing meter usage and sometimes I have ended up chasing ghosts trying to help when a meter was used improperly ...
I'm sure you can understand that
