I don't have a 450 but a 2013 250 SD Plat and the ONLY issues I have ever had was with emissions "stuff". 137K on it and so far I have had to replace the EGR coolant, DEF Heater x1 and DEF pump x 2 and now.... Looking at a "straight cleaning" or replacing the harness, DEF Pump (x3), DEF heater x2, etc.
Truck is in the shop now in Derate mode and I am 99% sure I am going with a "Cleaning" - with that can someone PM with the items of detail that will or should include? I think I know about all of it but, don't want to pretend I know it "All" - I hate surprises. Thank you in advance...

Feebies? What kinda slang is “cleaning”?
The parts aren’t serviceable from what I know. Maybe the EPA could change that in a rule to help out with older truck owners with this problem?
People shouldn’t post this delete crap online on forums. Its bad for air quality.

I'd go to the website of the shop I listed in the first post of this thread and buy a tuner and tunes, ebay for block off plates for the EGR cooler and exhaust recirc pipes, DPF delete shop for you exhaust, and youtube for the removal and install.
First time poster here, but I’m a long time diesel truck owner. First of all don’t be afraid to delete your truck. It’s not that hard or scary. Most of your tuners are gonna come from Costa Rica or Canada as several posts have already mentioned. More often than not now you are gonna get GDP tunes with your purchase. Flo Pro exhausts continue to be brought into the US even though Flo Pro themselves won’t ship here. So it’s available. Just be cognizant of where you live and your local laws. Kentucky is an emissions friendly state and we no longer do state inspections so that’s a non issue. Most dealers will also honor your warranty if your truck is deleted. I have had tons of warranty work done with no issues. All I can tell you is do your home work so you know what your buying. Your truck will run how it’s supposed to run once it’s deleted.
Just a heads up. I also have mine d*****d. I had issues with mine. The shop didn't properly cover all the old plugs to the emissions system. The truck had every light on the dash and was undrivable. So just do ensure to do your due diligence and make sure that all those old plugs are properly heat shrinked and packed full of dielectric grease. Any water in that will cause you a lot of trouble. Once I brought it into the shop they redid them all and everything worked fine afterwards. It was a scary feeling in the meantime though.
