Hey all… have a 2017 f250 6.7 diesel and want to change out the fuel filters. It says the underneath filter by the fuel cell must disconnect the hose above the filter on the 2017 (not need for 2018+) Which is this? I have a couple blue clamps above and a yellow to the side rail… I saw a video where they said you don’t have to do this, so tried draining and after 6 gallons of my 3/4 full tank came out without slowing down, i stopped the process and I believe this probably is actually needed to disconnect…can someone help? Even some pics? Thanks.

It sounds like you have a 2017 Job 1 truck. They were really bad about syphoning the tank with changing the fuel filter. As Norcalpr said, only do this with low fuel in the tank (helps break the syphon) or remove the fuel line as directed. My 2017 Job 2 truck does not do this when changing the filter, but I have only change it with about a quarter of a tank
Thanks! It definitely seemed like siphoning, got real low drain then became strong drain with a siphon sound in tank. It was 3/4 full so will attempt again on lower tank level. Appreciate the input.
