Well I have another. From a parts truck, don’t know if it is good. I am not home anymore, I was just back to get the truck to the house, so while I’m away I would figure I’d ask here to see who else has any suggestions.
but yes, the plan is to switch it out and see if the symptoms persist
A brand new switch is not expensive, on trucks this old it’s a good idea to replace anyway.
You must not be good at reading, I do have to say.
I have made it clear to you before that I will not just go out and buy new parts when there is a possibility of fixing one part.
Second, I am not “throwing parts” at the truck.
Third, on this forum people are always saying, “it’s your truck build it the way you want”
So one would think another member would not act as if they are trying to force someone into buying another part. Buzzard please stop this nonsense.
you clearly don’t have any real help once again and are being a pest.
It is your truck to do as you wish. I have seen many people here spend 5, 10 years and more working on a truck that they could have been driving days, weeks, even years earlier. There is at least one I know of that has not one put-together , operable truck, been on here for nearly 10 years. I have somehow managed to keep my trucks on the road , with little down time, for longer than some members have been faffing about doing band-aid repairs that may or may not last till the next paycheck. Longer than some have been members before getting discouraged and dropping off the site. Doing it right the first time works for me.
I would really appreciate it if anyone that has any suggestions at all to post real quick, that way in the morning I can just go through all comments and try one by one.

Unnecessarily rude after asking for any and all suggestions, getting them then trying to demoralize somebody just trying to help you fix your truck for free. As for my suggestion, lighten up.
To you I understand why you say what I said is rude. However buzzard has been quite a pest before and I will not stand for his ignorance. I do realize what I said was not the norm, but he can’t be getting away with what he does.

Just have it towed to a shop, get it fixed, and send me the bill, fellow.

Something you will come to find out in life is that when you ask for help, take the bits you want, leave the bits you don't. Rudeness publicly like that will cause others to scroll past your post and your truck will still be sitting. It is easy to fly off the handle behind a keyboard, but when others see that kind of reaction it makes them not want to even try. Life is a bunch of lessons and sometimes the humble pie is what needs to be eaten. Learn from it and move on. Do what you want with that, I won't be drawn into a debate.
That being said, grounds will cause all sorts of weird issues like this. My truck was hard starting intermittently and the turn signals would work great sometimes and others flash slower and slower until they stopped when I hit the brakes. Let off the brakes and they would slowly start flashing again. Idling the engine up would sometimes help the issue, but not always. Ground wires, light switch, ignition switch, battery, starter, and solenoid were all new. My ground wires were from the battery to the engine, engine to firewall, starter to frame. I added one ground strap from the engine spot where the battery connected to the frame and it is a different world. No more slow starts and turn signals have never worked better. Parts can be new, but if the circuit doesn't flow well it won't matter.
Buzzard edited his first post to make it seem like he was not rude in the first place. The point is not that he isn’t offering help, it’s that he is once again being rude himself, had he left his original post the same
that is the issue at hand with him/her, it is not the first encounter for me, nor others on this forum, just had to say. And for him to doubt abilities again saying “take it to a shop, send me the bill” is once again a very arrogant thing to say. His original snarky post I doubt he would have said face to face either. But behind a keyboard, you are correct people get out of hand, and I am guilty of it also. Nevertheless it’s unacceptable to push people and to doubt people and to make many assumptions without fully knowing them. Simply manners as I said last time I had an issue with Buzzard. And other members have private messaged me saying how he has been a problem and has had his profile suspended before. He is an issue I don’t stand for it.
but back to the truck, yes I am going through grounds. They seem quite weird at times in weird places. Any ideas why during this time Ford never used but a few dedicated ground straps?

I'm not sure. I was thinking with everything being metal that grounds shouldn't be an issue. Maybe they were thinking the same thing. It was amazing what one ground strap did for me though. I still have a couple more I want to add.
Right now I only have the dome light, could a bad alternator cause this in this truck? I wouldn’t think so?
maybe the starter solenoid has gone bad? I’m in Texas and we had that freeze a couple weeks ago, maybe that started corrosion. I’ll switch it out in a few minutes.
It has been a while, but I put a new headlight switch in my 1966 custom cab once, around maybe 1990,and the switch as I remember it was like a junction box for many connections.
