Bedside toolbox lock - can I replace the cylinder?

Hi all,

My bedside toolbox has no key for the lock (it is currently unlocked). Is it possible to replace the cylinder or will I need to chase down the entire lock/handle combination? Been searching online but I've yet to find anyone selling replacement parts...

Thanks!

Are they universal or unique to the latch?

just look on the back of the handle and you'll see how it comes apart it's real simple. a nut as I recall, I took mine apart and sent it in for new zinc plating last year.

I replaced mine. They are simple toolbox locks, seems like I swapped the piece that turns with the original

X2 get a locksmith to make a key, should be fast and cheap enough. And yes worse case the lock (tumbler assembly) I believe is a standard easily acquired tool box lock. Like for a cross the bed tool box. Maybe https://www.acehardware.com/departme...nd-locks/54443

Yeah - I tried looking for the assembly via the part number but doesn't look like there is anything available. I guess locksmith may be the way to go!

In case anyone is still looking for a replacement lock, or happens to find this thread in a search, Amazon has a replacement lock with key that fits without any modification.

It's called jQuad Truck Toolbox Lock, B07D6K1827.

The end is riveted instead of a screw so it fits the same as factory.
