lock cylinder removal without a key PLEASE HELP

so yeah i have a really huge problem,
well my truck started working with out a key about 6 months ago, and now the lock cylinder has decided to not turn at all. someone has taken my key as i do not have one where i have kept it for the past 6 months. i never took it off of the key ring.
so my question, as you all have probably guessed is how can i take out the key lock cylinder with out the key? there has to be a way. every where i go everyone says "turn the key to so and so position" but since i dont have a key i cant do that. any ideas?

All Data says.....

Lock Cylinder Non-Functional

NOTE: The following procedure applies to vehicles in which the ignition lock is inoperative and the lock cylinder cannot be rotated due to a lost or broken lock cylinder key, unknown key number, or a lock cylinder cap that has been damaged and I or broken to the extent that the lock cylinder cannot be rotated.

Removal

Disarm Airbag. Disconnect battery ground cable.
Remove steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel: Service and Repair .
Using channel lock pliers or vise grip pliers, twist lock cylinder cap until it separates from the lock cylinder.
Using a 3/8-inch diameter drill, drill down middle of ignition lock key slot approximately 44 mm (1-3/4 inch) until lock cylinder breaks loose from breakaway base of lock cylinder. Remove lock cylinder and drill shavings from lock cylinder housing.
Remove retainer, washer, ignition switch and actuator. Thoroughly clean all drill shavings and other foreign materials from casting.
Carefully inspect lock cylinder housing for damage from the above operation. If damage is apparent, housing must be replaced.

Sorry I can't be of more help......tell me if there is anything else you need.

Edit: Oh and welcome to FTE

I had to do this to my 87 F150. It was working without a key....my uncle had rigged it so you didn't need a key....

on the top of the steering column, there's a rod ...the actuator rod. Mine just locked up one day so I took the plastic covering the column off, the steering wheel and then i took a pair of channellocks and gripped the actuator rod. then I tapped it with a hammer and the cylinder was rigged again. you might have to tap on the chrome housing of the cylinder...since I assume you're getting a new lock anyway...they are only 10 bucks.

I am having the same problem on my 85 F150. I have the directions from farofftrack.
I have drilled the key slot. My question is: What is meant by "...lock cylinder breaks loose from breakaway base of lock cylinder." ?

The cylinder appears to be free, but the detent pin is still stopping it from being removed. I can't seem to get it free.

Drill out the retaining pin with the appropriately sized drill bit. The pin is only about 1/4" long so it doesn't take much depth to get it drilled out. The key/lock cylinder is about $30 dollars at Advance and Autozone and about $2 cheaper at the dealer. It was here anyway. You might price both places. Drilling the pin out comes from the service shop manual I purchased when I bought the truck.
