Fuel pump block off plate?

Does anyone know if a 420/6.9 IDI can use a standard Ford big block fuel pump block off plate? NAPA has that but no info on fitment to an IDI.

I had a Mr.Gasket block off plate that leaked like crazy. Changed to a Spectre Performance 42473 and never had an issue. Sealed with the rightstuff, and I used a bunch of washers on my old bolts as the ones it came with seemed too short and I was worried I was gonna drop one inside.

IIRC, you use a BBC plate and may need to grind one corner a little bit to make it sit flat. I used a gasket as a template to make one from some plate aluminum I had laying around.

What would happen if one were to simply leave the old pump in there? Asking for a friend.

probably nothing maybe some oil leak if the pump was bad to begin with...I've seen a few that the owner removed the arm on the pump. Just saying

When I tried the electric route thankfully I left the pump on because when the electric failed, I was able to hook it back up stock and make it home..
