What info can I learn from my Production code # on my plate in the door jamb of my '56 Panel? I know about the serial/VIN #. My truck was a factory V8 truck built in Norfolk VA. Thanks. 25L224252 (B?)
The production code contains the scheduled build date 25L, November 25th. The rest is the rotation number, an internal tracking code that has no other correlation to the truck. Usually the rotation number is 4 digits or less. Yours being extra long may include additional information, but what that might be is likely lost to time.
