How do plug solid fuel lines?

I am going to replace my fuel pump on my 59 F100. The fuel lines are solid metal. On all other cars it is easy to block rubber fuel lines. Here I want to make sure I have a solution ready so I don't start spilling fuel everywhere.

You should have a hose from chassis line to pump. Also, a flex line where fuel line exits cab floor.

If somebody has put solid line to the pump inlet, slip a plug in a piece of rubber hose, when you pull the line off the pump, quickly slip the hose over the line.

Duct tape off filler tube, strategically place a catch bin, and go for it! If all is sealed, it shouldn’t leak more than a quart.

In all seriousness, a 3/8 line usually fits over the flare and take a 24” piece up the inner fender above the fuel level in the tank.
