Needing guidance
So I have a 1980 f250 and I can get it to start but it won't stay running. My idea is to get a new fuel pump and replace the rubber sections of the hose as I have to disconnect the fuel line at the carb and suck fuel through to get it to start. I also have a small leak just past the fuel pump. Should I replace all of the fuel lines, or just the rubber or is there possibly another issue. Thanks in advance

You should have a rubber connection underneath the left rear joining hard metal fuel lines and another from the hard metal fuel line to your fuel pump. Not unusual to see the original lines still in use. Good insurance to replace them.

You might be good from the firewall back.
Just closely check them out.
They are probably still better than the rubber fuel line stuff
that you buy today.
Go to the carwash and spray under there and get a good flashlight
and see what you really have under there to work with.

Replace the fuel pump and any rubber lines that look bad. I would not replace the metal lines unless a last resort, that's a difficult job putting new metal lines in place. I would not put rubber hose the whole way to the tank.
