Gear Shift Column - Remote Control bushings

Hi,

Question for the forum: I have a 1960 F-100 I6 with a 3 speed on the column. Upon troubleshooting why the truck sometimes does not go into second gear from 1st, I found there is a lot of play in the upper and lower bushings on the remote control rods. I know the bushing are C3TZ-7343-A and are sold by Dennis Carpenter. My question is, does anyone know of a kit that includes the bushings, washers, and pins that make up the whole setup? I am using as reference page 456 from the 1957-63 Ford Truck Parts and Accessories catalog. I also have pictures of the upper and lower bushings.

Thanks in advance for any advice on there being a "kit" vice trying to get all the parts individually.

I know the bushing are C3TZ-7343-A (These are for 1961/64 F100/250 2WD!).
B7AZ-7343-A .. Gear Shift Selector Arm Bushing & Insulator Kit / Obsolete

1957/60 F100/350 // 1961/64 F100/250 4WD & F350 // 1957/58 Ford Passenger Cars.

NOS PARTS SOURCE in Olathe KS has 1 = 913-220-5746.

KLIMESH MOTOR SALES in Calmar IA has 1 = 563-562-3241.

MCDONALD OBSOLETE PARTS in Rockport IN has 1 = 812-359-4965.

NOS PARTS LTD in Waxahachie TX has 2 = 972-937-2201.

MILLER OBSOLETE PARTS in Vestal NY has 3 = 607-722-5371.

OBSOLETE RELIABLE PARTS in Nashville GA has 7 = 229-686-5101.

No one sells all the related parts in a kit. Just like FoMoCo, excepting this kit, all the parts were sold individually.

Am I crazy or are those linkage arms upside down? Mine has the threaded ends toward the transmission side.

My shifter has a little wear in it as well. I had to learn how to shift it. When going from first to second, when I get half way there I have to make a little downward motion towards third and then go up to second. Otherwise, it gets locked up and there is nothing to do but to stop and move the shifter arms by hand. Not fun in the downtown setting. I had thought about getting the parts to fix it but just got use to it and haven't had any trouble for years. lol

I think you are right. Mine are on upside down. When I look at the schematic in the catalog, it does show the threaded sides at the transmission. I will see if switching them helps my issue of jumping out of second gear! I found that shifting from 1st to 3rd and then into second works like a charm.

I put mine in first gear to slowly let it come down our bumpy old hill and it has jumped out of gear a couple of times over the years. I can remember vehicles doing that back in the day before everything was "perfect"!
