Stolen playground slide is found installed in bedroom of mobile home

A police officer searching for stolen catalytic converters stumbled across another ill-gotten item: a slide stolen from a playground and installed inside a mobile home.

The police department in Pasco, Washington, reported the unexpected find.

Investigating a spate of catalytic converter thefts late last month, Pasco police Detective Julie Lee was searching a mobile home across the Snake River in Burbank.

In a bedroom, she found a 400-pound playground-quality slide attached to a bunkbed.
Though it had been repainted, it looked familiar, and for good reason: It had been sawed off a play structure the week before Christmas at a Pasco park.

Pasco parks employees came to reclaim it, and the mobile home’s resident, a 30-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property.
