What is the cap that the arrow is pointing to for. Can it be removed to inspect the inside?
Also, when owners remove these boxes and install a machined adapter and a hose over one hole and a plug over the other hole where the box was and then put a rubber plug on the intake tube to the turbo, what are they doing about the sensor that was on the tube? How are they defeating a PO4DB code? And another thing, don't state inspectors look at the mod when they take the vehicle in for yearly inspection?

Not all states inspect diesels. Would an inspector even look at that? Usually they plug a devise into the obd port, read it and do a visualy with a mirror under the hood.

They may put a device in place of the fuel cap to check for leaks but I have never heard or seen them pop the hood.

Oh they pop my hood on my truck. They give it a good looking over. They look for aftermarket air intakes here in Ca.

I found out what the sensor is or was for on the end of the hose. It was for if the hose accidentally came off or got left off the manifold inlet. The computer would give a check engine light. It is a hose connection position sensor.

This post reminded me Ive had a ccv delete sitting in a box for months. So today I tackled the job. First that round thing your asking about is a rubber diaphragm with a spring under it. Second there is no sensor or anything plugged into it. This mod is stupid easy its remove fuel filter and 4 bolts for the box. The amount of over engineering that went into the ford piece is ridiculous. I dumped out probably 12oz of nasty oil. My intake and turbo had good sized oil puddles in them. I used the cheapest ebay delete I could find and it fit perfectly. This went on my 19 with 36k. If I remember Ill get pics tomorrow of the old box i cut up .

Wow, unbelievable the 12oz of oil you got out of it. Doesn't look like the box is doing the job it was made for.
My F250 is 2015 with 36,500 miles on it. I don't believe I could get by with making the change.
I have seen a partial photo of the insides of the box on the internet. Hope to see your pics.

I see you are in TX. Me too. TX does not have a emission test for medium duty/2500 or larger trucks. It is a straight safety inspection although I am not sure if they even check to see if a check engine light is on. From my research, it seems that the CCV kit will not throw a code on newer vehicles.

This was on my phone. I'm getting rid of pics so thought I'd share it here first. Here's pics of the plastic tube on a YouTube video that was cut that goes to the throttle body. Before the Mishimoto can came out, I had thoughts of cutting into the tube thinking it might have a rubber line inside so I could tee it off to run the 6.0 catch can kit. I'm glad I waited... I would have been screwed and needed to buy a new CCV can from the dealer.

Thanks for taking the photos. Very interesting.

In 2017 I think is was that a bill was wrote up to cancel all state inspections in Texas except commercial vehicles. I think it was put on the agenda, but time ran out and it didn't introduced. And it didn't get brought up again. So to my understanding it would have to have the governors approval to get it going again.

When my 2015 through a ccv code in 2019 the dealer mechanic per instructions from Ford disabled the sensor on the ccv tubed. And removed the plastic disconnect ring on the hose and put a collar/sleeve on the hose end where it could be slipped back on to the metal tube and lock in some how, and you couldn't not pull it back off. That was the fix for intermittent sensor code. The sensors purpose was to let the computer know if the hose had accidentally came off or was left off purposely. It's been disabled on my vehicle now.
