I want to tackle the CCV mod this weekend but am stumped about what to do with the hole in the intake boot where the factory hose was attached. What kind of different things did u guys do that have already done this mod?

I had a plastic plug that fit the hole...then I ran tape and ty-tys around the intake tube to make sure it stays there.

I replaced the transition piece with a short piece of 4" exhaust and just clamped it into the plastic intake tube to the turbo and the tube coming from the filter element.

That's kind of what I was thinking of doing but not sure where I can get a short piece of 4" around here

An exhaust shop should have 4", and there may even be short pieces of 4" at parts houses.

Or, you could get a 3.5" pvc coupling. They're 4" od and fairly cheap. I found the plastic thing amongst my junk...which is too extensive...

Or you could route the hose back to it. I kept mine closed, the extra distance and the material in the ccv housing seems to keep the residue down.

It should be 3/4"... You can also use a piece of exhaust like stated above.

You will be much happier with a closed loop system though. You can pick up the canister to filter the oily air for about $20 at TSC. Let me know if you want anymore info about it.

or build your own with about $15 worth of parts from Home Dump

I used 3" with a screw top cap and a drain valve at the bottom. Put a couple of the copper pot scrubbers inside to catch the residue.
I built this over a year ago when I did my re-route, still haven't put it in yet Right now I just have about 10 feet of hose curled up in the engine bay, who knows how much oil is in it. I'l finish it all up one of these days
