Truck is going down the road with cruise control on. Truck kicks off the cruise control and overdrive light on the gearshift starts flashing. Then later on that day he tries to drive it and he says it has no power.
Someone suggested this is all caused by the ABS Sensor or speed sensor in the rear end? Dows this problem ring a bell with anyone? Things to check?
Any help is appreciated!
THanks
Sounds like tranny issue. Usually when the overdrive light flashes and loose power,, the tranny goes into limp mode.

without knowing the trouble code that set the trans in limp mode ,there really is no way of telling you what direction to go.
have the codes read, that is always the first step.
A problem with the brake lights, including the third brake light on top / back of the cabin, can cause the overdrive to flash along with disconnecting the cruise control. That is the first thing I would check. If one of those lights is out, replace it and see what happens.
So im having him check the third breaklight now.
No trouble codes are showing on the OBD II Scanner.
