Hey all. I have a 1999 f350. It’s got some problems but most importantly, it’s a bear to start. Once it does start it runs horribly. I replaced the IPR and the ICP. It seems to start a little better but I mean you gotta crank it for a LONG time. If it’s cold out (30 degrees) and plugged in and also on a battery charger it takes a minute of cranking or more before it will start. I have the FORScan app and once it does start I’m showing IPR 4.69%/ICP voltage 3.87V/ICP 3050PSI. This is at idle. Which I know is super high. I’ve also noticed that my ICP voltage is bouncing all around but IPR stays at 4.69%. Wha do y’all think? I can get other parameters off the truck if need be. Thanks!!! Also if it matters it has a TS chip on it. Straight exhaust and ebpv delete. As far as I know the rest is stock.
I just checked the oil level in the hpop after it has sat overnight. Roughly 12-14 hours since it ran yesterday and it’s 1 inch from the top of the housing.
Once the motorcraft parts are in place monitor icp while cranking. If pressure isn't building that's 1 thing but if it climbs up and over 500+ but still no start then that sends us another direction.

cool. What would it mean if the pressure still goes high? It’s high now on cranking. Like 2500. But still starts. It just takes it a while to do it. And then runs like crap.
The injectors won't really fire until the pcm sees 500 psi injection pressure. So if you're seeing 500+ but having slow or no start then I assume the pump and ipr aren't to blame. The next most likely suspect is typically fuel system. the factory spec for fuel pressure is 45-65 psi the norm for most is about 60# give or take. I have actually seen my truck start run and drive showing 0 psi on a Wikia 100# gauge it didn't run well and I don't recommend doing it, but they will run. After fuel it's usually electrical, glow plug system, batteries, cables, double checking good grounds, and all the pertinent sensors are connected properly and pcm is able to communicate with them. So if you haven't done so already I would check fuel system over. Fuel filter is clean, good pressure, steady flow, no air, that kind of stuff. These is some good info up in the Tech section up in the sticky's. hope it helps ang good luck. keep us posted.
