I might be able to help you with the metering block but i believe there are multiple versions of the 1904. Did you lose your metering block or can you show it?
All of my stuff of course is used but rebuild-able. I have a good handful of these carbs of different versions so i would want to make sure i'm getting you the right part. If i have it loose in my parts tote you can have it for the cost of shipping.
There is a member here with the user name Firstrider who is a true expert on the heaters for your 52. He can provide dimensions of the core and recommendations on how to repair or replace it. He may even have a spare one to sell too.
I bought a restored heater from him for my '51 F2 and it was a real beauty.
Look him up and send a message - you'll have answers about the core for sure.
Tom
For a heater core look up Carnegie Radiator in Carnegie, PA, near Pittsburgh. And yes then town was named after Andrew Carnegie, Steel magnate.
You tell them the exact size core you need and they will sell you a chunk of new core. You will have to solder the old tank and pipes onto the chunk. I bought a chunk from them and was very satisfied.
I'll look at what i have tonight for the metering block. Is there something wrong with the one you have? Just curious cause kits will have all the parts you need in them. Is yours damaged?
USUALLY a good soak in something like berryman's does the trick and the plugs don't need to be removed. I usually cook mine in an ultrasonic cleaner with some citrus cleaner or pine sol and then SODA BLAST (previously i said bead blast by mistake). The rebuild kits will have everything you need but if you want a complete top section i'll sell you this one for free you pay USPS small box priority or medium if it won't fit in a small. If you prefer i don't mind removing the metering block and "cleaning it up for you a little but no promises on condition. I can just send you that after cleaned, Just let me know

I'll take that top section if you will part with it. Private message me with the info and I'll mail you a check. Thank You very much, I hope to drive my truck this summer. About mid season last year it wouldn't idle any more unless I revved it and then blocked my venturi.
Any good carburetor rebuilt at a minimum verifies all passages are clear. The carburetor on my 53 sedan came off a junk car from a private yard and looked at least as bad as the initial picture, runs fine after rebuilding. For best results do as bhalemail described and soak in carb vat.
