engine heater wattage?

how many watts is the engine heater. i measured the resistense and got 20ohms. and if i figured right that would only be about 720watts.

The math adds up correctly. It was my understanding that the block heater uses about 1000 watts. I haven't taken any direct measurements, but when I plugged my new trucks block heater in the wattmeter on the side of my house really started spinning. Yeah, it works.

Block heater is indeed 1000 watts.
