Rockford Files episode featured two of our beloved trucks
One of my favorite Rockford Files episodes is called Heartaches of a fool. In the episode the guest star is a country music legend named Charlie Strayhorn. He and Jimbo drive around in his 1964 beater longbed. In the same episode, Rockford goes to investigate a truck driver and you can see his 1961 in the background.
I I like this episode so much I had a custom-made bumper sticker made for my 64 longbed.

I mentioned the Rockford Files in this thread earlier. Slicks in Hollywood - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums (ford-trucks.com) IMO, the '64 was made to look like a beater by the studio. If you look closely, it appears to have a very cheap and fast repaint of everything, including all the emblems. In one scene, they used a '66 F 250, the rest of the episode was all the '64 F 100. Interior shots show this pickup was a hard to find black '64 Custom Cab with red interior and an automatic trans.
