I took my truck to a local car show today. It was their 10th annual show and they had the largest turnout of 120+ cars and trucks. Here are a few photos.
Thanks, Mark
My buddies '57 COE build.
He couldn't buy a new COE bumper so he cut a conventional cab bumper and added a piece in the middle. He had the flag put on to cover the section he added.

Thanks for looking, Mark
It was a great day here too....so I took the truck to a small car show about 20 miles from here...trying to get some miles on it befor heading back to PA for truck stock. Didn't win any awards, but didn't expect to...just out for to show it off.
Love all the comments I get on the truck. Heading to Avon, IN for the Saturday night Cruise in soon.
Looks like you had a nice show also. Your truck looks really good. Contrary to popular opinion here, I like the '54 grill the best of the '53-'56 trucks.

Mark, you trying to bait me to say something? LOL! Thanks for the pics, but don't be so modest! We need some close ups of your truck.
Indybeer Mark, thanks for your pics. I like that poster of your truck's story. I should make one for my truck, but I don't go to many shows.

You both had greats days it looks like!!!! This one brought back a memory.... my dad bought a 1959 Ranchero (red) back in about 1968 or so..... it belonged to Gary Peterson.... a name most won't know, but he was the lead trumpet player for the group "Gary and the Playboys"... they had lot of top records back in the days..... my mom who was a bit older was raised right next door to to him and his parents..... he wanted to sell the truck because he was going off to serve in Vietnam, he had just left and his dad (who was the head locksmith for MGM Studios) sold my dad his truck for $100 IIRR..... it originally had the 6 cylinder in it...there had previously at some point been an engine fire and the paint was partially gone from the hood, and about a year later the engine gave out...dad dropped a 260 V8 in it and it was a fun truck again!!! He drove it for many years until it was on it's last leg....IIRR, he sold it to an engineer he worked with for $50..... and told him, I don't know if it will get you home....it quit on the way after the guy bought it!
and yes, Gary did make it back to the states after his service concluded
