Oh wait...

As you see here I can't open up the hood.
That steel bumper I worry about how well it's still on.

That is pretty nasty for a tree branch! You would need a new valence and headlight for sure. I think you also need a quarter panel. You could find all those parts at the scrap yard to save money.

If by valence you mean the plastic piece under the bumper; I could care less about that. As for that quarter panel I don’t think I need a new one, but here are some pictures of that anyway.

I don’t have the skills to patch this back together so I’m going to have to take it to someone for that.

Basically my auto insurance wouldn’t cover this in itself, but our homeowners insurance plus the neighbors next door since it was there property were the dead tree fell from. So that’s why I ask about the insurance covering this, but in the long run it seems that that would cost me more; I don’t know just an option I have nothing to base on.

I hope you got your & the neighbors insurance folks involved Before you moved, or cleaned up anything!!!! The photos will be helpful, but get the insurance adjusters involved Before you Move anything, just to eliminate any liability hesitation on their part. Unless there is more to see, the tree branch you posted a photo of doesn't look to be large nor heavy enough to have done That much damage to a bumper, unless it was wind blown at high speed, or fell from Way up high!!!! If it had hit a human with that much force, it could have been fatal. Seems to me someone has liability here, so persue all your options & let us know how it goes..

That’s wasn’t no tree branch it was the tree its self (at least what was the top part) of a long dead tree. After a period of heavy rainfall the ground it was rooted in was so saturated that the dead tree fell due to the law of gravity, and nothing else.

I’d don’t’ know happen while I was at my parents house so their
homeowners insurance plus the neighbors next door since it was there property were the dead tree fell from might cover it. Again my auto insurance alone won’t cover this, and since this Friday evening I will not know from the insurance agent till Monday.

OK, so both property owners agents are involved, thats good. Would be interesting to hear how it all shakes out. No damage done that can't be fixed & since you had no fault in the happening, repairs shouldn't cost you either, nor should replacement transportation while your ride is out of service.
