are you talking about a pintle type hitch ? I have a 12,000 # receiver on my truck and the insert is a forged steel bar with 2-5/16 ball rated for that load.

the above is from my link... works on my computer... Made by CURT... 20,000 # ... $66. at Home Depot

8000 pounds is not a big load for a F150... and about any Pintle will handle that...
