I know this is almost apples and oranges .. But years ago I owned a 1981 F-250 that was hit in the rear similar to Yours..
Mine had a home made oil field special bumper on the rear .. Read extra heavy duty !!
Rear bumpers were an added cost option in those days .. Woman hit Me with a Pontiac J-2000 25-30 MPH
no more then that, City street .. Put a couple of small dents in My bumper but shortened up Her Pontiac about
12 inches .. No Damage to My pickup except the bumper dents ..
I hope Yours is the same !! I know nothing about carfax, But i would think they give an out line of the damage ??
Best of luck with this ..
Steve
Your truck will now show up as having been in an accident when you decide to sell. This will cause an immediate decrease in value. Do not settle insurance claim with out demanding compensation for that lost value.
.
that’s the million dollar question. How do they determine what value you lose? Is it based off a % of what it cost to fix the truck?
For heavens sake don't take the lady to court. She just got an education in distracted driving. Just fix your truck and let it go.
let it go? This lady was extremely negligent by driving and reading. Care to see the rear dash camera video? It’s crystal clear 4K
This truck is my lively hood. I use it everyday for my job.
so I’m just supposed to say ehhh, f it, it’s ok, we all make mistakes and end up eating not making any money because I can’t use my truck? What about my neck? What about my hospital visit Friday night?
Sorry, but unless you are providing for my family, your comment is irrelevant.

You guys are crazy saying let this go. This distracted person could have run someone’s kid over in a neighborhood. She needs to learn a lesson. If everyone got a slap on the wrist our society would be more sideways than it already is.
You are losing work, but most importantly have a truck that will be hard to sell. I know a lot of folks that won’t touch a vehicle if Carfax comes back with an accident report. I passed on some pretty nice vehicles because of accident reports.
Without any honest pain or injury I would say hold off on the lawyer and see how the subrogation goes with your insurance company. If you are not getting the numbers you feel you deserve then you hire representation.
Mistakes happen, but negligence is not accepted. She didn’t glance at her nav system. She was looking at a magazine or pamphlet. That’s not the least bit acceptable.
As she was following me... Decided to start reading.. See white paper over her face. Still reading 1/2 second before impact... The minute she realized she F*** up with airbag deployment!!
Great shots. She is in heavy traffic following closely behind a truck. She can't see what's going on up ahead and she thinks its a good time to read. Did she also have her little dog in her lap?
Hope you are made whole, both truck and loss of work, without any hassle.
