Before I dropped that kind of coin I'd at least check if the pump is getting power and how much. Ironically I had a fuel pump problem myself yesterday. Truck was idling in the drive warming up and I heard it go to high idle then nothing. I cycled the key no hum from the pump or pressure on gauge. Immediately reached for the multimeter. Voltage was good ended up being a bad connection.
@udsuth78 what connection ended up being bad? Right at the pump? I want to keep an eye on this as well.
RigCity - glad to see you got her going. If I had an '02 and was faced with that price, I would do something similar to what you did, or figure out how to replace/repair the relay hidden in that module.
In the thread below, there is an ebay service that will replace the relay for quite a bit less than a new (or used) module. Not sure if he is still at it for our rigs, but I see he has current repair listings going.
What you did, RigCity, is going to be the most economical, but maybe long term, this is an option to try.
Not sure if this is what your central junction box looks like for an '02, so take the following with a grain of salt. I was looking for the relay for those that might want to tackle the job.

I've converted to an in tank pump so I doubt it would apply to most here but it was the positive at the hanger plate where the wires go into tank. When I installed the pump I used insulated blade connectors which I solderer and heat shrinked, but the female side of the connection got loose some how or other and wasn't making good contact. Now it's a 2 pin weather tight plug so shouldn't have any more trouble from it.
