2003 7.3 Fuel Gauge Problem
longtime lurker and reader but never poster.... this site has helped me diagnose / fix things on my 7.3 since buying it 4.5 years ago.
2003 7.3 4x4 38 gal tank 151,000 miles
So my problems started about 3 months ago with a faint fuel gauge jump between 1/2 and 3/4 tank (about an 1/8 jump in either direction. Once the fu gauge got below 1/2 it worked fine... then over the last 3 months it started getting worse and staying in one position for 60+ miles before jumping again 1/8 at a time in any direction between 1/4-3/4 of a tank.
This forum is exactly my problem, however the fix was never discussed.

I then researched this forum regarding the problem and found this guide and followed it to the T.

After replacing the sending unit the problem still persist and requires me to park the truck and shut it off for 5+ minutes to get an accurate reading upon restarting. Once I begin driving the gauge will either stay in one spot or jump erratically 1/8 in either direction until stopping in one spot again. This will happen from empty to full and not in a distinct area of the gauge.
I would appreciate any help and or guidance with fixing this issue. I am not super savvy at electrical but can test ohms and volts if required, would just need some guidance.
thanks everyone!
