Serious question: why do you go with a syn blend? Are there desirable qualities in non-synthetic that you need/want? Why not go full-syn? It can't be about the cost per quart, can it? Your truck needs seven quarts. If we assume full-syn is $3 more per quart, is that $21 detrimental to your finances? [completely rhetorical, I'm not trying to get your bank balance]

Folks can flame me, get on a soapbox, type in all caps, it doesn't matter; conventional oil is not as good as synthetic oil, period. So, with that out of the way, why would someone buy anything that has any part of conventional oil in it?

I mean, what's the internal argument look like here; "I like xxxx that the synthetic provides but, sure need the yyyy from conventional" or, "if I keep this $21 for myself, I can get a Whopper and chocolate shake on my way home with money to spare"?

I want to 'walk a mile in your shoes' to see the world through your lens. Mind to share that with me - seriously. I am NOT trying to be a *****. You absolutely could not give me FREE conventional or syn-blend oil and expect me to take it. No thanks, I'll use a premium full-syn that I pay for on my own dime.

When I buy new vehicles, the dealership is all like; 'first four oil changes are free'. I'm like; 'bro, don't bother. That is not an attractive proposal to me'

Im not going to "Flame" or Criticize'. Its just that your post above seems more to be a statement rather than a question. My takeaway form all of that is you like full synthetic oil and why would someone use anything but.?
Now my answer is simple. I use semi- synthetic Because that is what my dealer recommends I fill it with. PERIOD. Full stop.

I purchased the "Ford Maintenance" package with my truck. its good for 125k miles. Anything goes wrong with it and the dealer fixes it. This is the oil they use when they do the oil changes every 5k.

To your point, i too believe that synthetic is far superior.

Its just not required for every application. And until the cost comes down, some guys will simply not spend the money.

I use the oil specified for the vehicle and change the oil on the recommended schedule. For my van that means full synthetic. For my F250 that means synthetic blend. I run my vehicles for 100K plus miles and have never had an issue so, for me, no reason to change.

No argument that synthetic blend is not as good as full synthetic but synthetic blend is more than good enough. I'm comfortable using what works and not spending more (even just $21) for something where I won't see the difference. Those are the shoes I walk in every day.

No doubt, full synthetic is the way to go but have free oil changes and tire rotation for 1 year from dealer and they use a blend.
Once I start changing the oil as I've done for 42 years then I'll go full synthetic.

I don't think price of synthetic oil is a deterrent when you consider what we're paying for these trucks. Lol

I changed mine out the first time at just under 3,000 miles, not because it needed it but because it was in a gap between two 1,500 mile camping trips. I did not want the oil monitor to tell me I was due a change while I was out on the road. I have about 3,000 miles on this oil change with the oil monitor projecting my next change at about 5,000. I do about 75% towing with more than usual idling. I was able to buy 25 quarts of Shell Rotella Gas Truck full syn at $3.20 a quart and Motorcraft filters at a great price so my next three oil changes are less than $30 each. I am going to wait for the oil monitor to indicate the appropriate time and I am going to send a sample off to Blackstone Labs just to see how things are looking based on the that. I am confident with these engines that any regiment that is within the OEM guidelines will result in many years of trouble-free motoring. Don't over think it, just do what makes you feel comfortable.
