Improving Headlights
On my 02 Excursion I have aftermarket factory style headlights and Sylvania ZXE Gold bulbs. As shown in the image, the spread is horrible, and there is a weird prism-like pattern in the beam when driving. I was wondering what setups other ex's have, and how to improve mine. With the HID bulbs, you might not get that sexy straight line across the top you're after, however you won't get more light down the road and that is what counts most. Ok so I get a couple "eye lash" patterns on the top but who the F&*k cares? Every time you go over a bump, small crown in the road, your lights are gonna be in the opposing traffics eyes for a fraction of a second. Well guess what, if you haven't noticed, theirs is doing the same to you. It's a fact of life, learn to live!
Some may want to flame me for my point of view but if you're that ****, enjoy your unhappiness cause you're not gonna fix the world. Don't misunderstand me, I'm not in favor of blinding oncoming drivers. As a matter of fact, I can't use my driving lights in town because that is what they do. Their intended purpose is to provide me light on the open highway farther than 30 feet ahead at 80 mph.
Here's my setup and I'm very happy with it....
