I just finished up my 05 headlight conversion. I decided to go with the black Harley headlight on my black truck and it turned out pretty well. I do have a question for those of you who have the 05-07 headlights. how do you dial in the headlight beam pattern. On the old headlights there were screws to adjust the direction of the light, I dont see any on the new ones. [/IMG] [/IMG]
There is no side to side adjustment, but there is a small inverted torx bit screw near the top outer corner that rotates the bucket up or down. Not a whole large range of adjustment though.

I just bought a OEM set for cheap from Ford.
But...where can I get the pigtails fairly reasonable?
I also need the paper diagram in order to cut the holes
more precisely, instead of just butchering the panel up.

I may still have the diagram I got with my headlights. I'll see if I can find it, If I can I'll scan it tomorrow.

I just picked up the pigtails. They're $10 and change from AMAZON.COM. They're made by Halo Automotive, P/N WH9007. I got them to wire in a relay directly to the battery for better lighting. They come with two (2) male and two (2) female 9007 connectors. It's the cheapest I found on the internet for the connectors and they have a pretty heavy wire gauge. It doesn't say the gauge but they're rated for 120 watts. That should be enough.
Hope it helps, Later... Brewster...
Don't upgrade the bulbs to higher wattage because the design of the terminals on the 9008's is very small and unforgiving. The terminals will overheat and melt the housing because of the crappy terminals.
You can upgrade your wiring harness to supply closer to battery voltage to the bulbs but that is all I would do. Some people go with higher wattage bulbs, but those tend to heat up the terminals and melt the housing. Additionally, there are mods to make the high and low beams active at the same time which can also overheat the bulb. In short, the 9008 bulb design leaves MUCH to be desired with respect to being heavy duty. Another thing you will not want to do (In my opinion) is go with Sylvania silverstars. The wattage is the same as stock but yet they talk about increased light output. For some reason this makes no sense. If you look closely, the bulb is coated, instead of being clear. This acts like a 'filter' and only allows whiter light to be emitted. While yes, it "looks" brighter, actually it isn't. Additionally, in inclement weather, and night driving, you want light more on the yellow side as it helps with perception. In other words, keep the stock bulbs in there, or go with clear replacements if you ever need to. Dont upgrade the wattage, and if you want, get a headlight harness to up the voltage. The 9008 bulbs like battery voltage. Don't even get me started on HID retrofit kits... Those are not designed for the housing and while yes, it may *seem* like they light up better, you are just blinding oncoming traffic. Filament headlight housings are designed for filament lightbulbs, NOT HID. Now of course, I am probably going to get a bunch of people angry, but oh well.... hahah
