Hard shifitng
1999 F350 shifts hard and then acts like you throw it in neutral and revs up then slams back into gear. What causes this?Only one code PO 500 and I replaced the VSS still same thing

The first thing to do is to fix the problem causing the P0500. Since a new sensor didn't fix it, I suspect there is a problem with the wiring between the PCM and the VSS. You need to check each of the two wires for continuity, short to power, and short to ground.
