Ok so I am having this crazy issue. Initially, I had glow plugs 1,2,3,5,7 all throwing codes. I ordered new harnesses and plugs and called it a day. After I installed the plugs and harnesses the truck ran and started great in the cold weather. Flash forward two months later and my truck will barely start in the cold. I plugged my computer in and I got 1,2,3 and 5 all throwing codes. I replaced the GPCM and then 1 and 5 codes went away. I plugged the old GCPM back in and the codes for 1 and 5 came back. I plugged the new one back in and 1 and 5 went away. SO I ruled out that the GPCM was possibly frying out the new plugs? I did the ohm test and glow plugs 2 and 3 will not show any resistance at all. What is the issue here? The wires are all snug, there is no chafing, and they're new plugs. Did the GPCM fry out 2 and 3?
do you have anything to look at the FICM voltage , plug your block heater in and you truck will probably start fine , but I bet you need a new FICM and a set of batteries ,I went the extra mile and got a alternator and cable kit to boot price will shock you $2200 . But all my problems went away and truck runs great oh also got the 40 Atlas installed , blue elm 327 and torque pro for you phone and you'll be amazed what you can monitor
Okay here is what you need to do.
Check the resistance from the connector at the GPCM to the connector at the harness for the plugs.
Then check from that plug to the glow plug.
You could just pull everything off the truck and set it up on the bench and fire it up there... Possible you have a bad connection in one of the plug in's in the harness.... If a couple of plugs go bad, that puts all the amps on the remaining plugs. Could have over heated them. Are the glow plugs bulged ?

batteries read 12.5 volts when not running in the 25-40 degree weather of NJ. FICM has never dropped below 47.5volts even when cranking. I ordered a new ficm and am waiting for it to come in the mail but I am 99% sure that this is not a power issue.

I replaced all 8 plugs a couple of months ago and they were fine up until now. 4000+ miles. I haven’t taken any out since putting them in. The only thing I did was remove the harness to make sure all the plugs were tight in their chambers and the harness was resecured.

Electricity doesn't work that way.

12.5 is still low if you are reading off the batteries. If off the OBD, OK.
