1990 E350 with E4OD. Original tranny was trashed. Purchased a rebuilt torque converter and a used '91 E4OD. The tranny had very little fluid in it but was red with a little moisture and smelled correct. Had 86K on it.
Put a new front seal on it and installed. Replaced the old filter and refilled.
Reverse works great, lots of power. Foward not so lucky. No leaks. Has no power. Would idle in reverse up a hill but had to really gun it to go up in drive.
Turn the overdrive off and see what it does. I have a 91 e40d. If it works with the overdrive off it is probly your overdrive drum in the tranny. 91 was a very bad year for the E4OD. It is a good tranny but you have to have them build for heavy duty use so they do not blow up.
