E4OD reverse problem

E4OD reverse problem
I have a 90 F250 4x4 with A 5.8 and an E4OD, the tranny was replaced at 100k (has 160k on it now). my problem is when i try to go in reverse it dont move until i rev it up. once i get going it will keep moving but it chatters. is there a band or some other adjustment i can make?

I dont know much about these newer ones , I got the same problems but worse I would guess yours are on the same path mine went!
some "expensive spidergear thing" has broken inside.
that is why the high cost of used, rebuilt trannys.

E4OD reverse problem
Almost sounds like torque converter to me. I'm not extremely familiar with the E4OD, and using GM is never a great example, but I saw the same thing in a THM 350. Guy thought he was losing the tranny, justed turned out to be torque converter.
