That they did all they could on their end and that it was Ford’s fault it hadn’t been picked up. They keep telling me everything is fine and they’re not worried.
I would certainly assume your May delivery will be fine. (assume)
Regardless, I would definitely be asking for more details on their allocation position if the GM didn't explain why their order still was not pulled after 45 days. Depending how that conversation went, I would look at another dealer to place an order.
Side note, I think you mentioned a deposit. I did not and would not put a deposit down when factory ordering a vehicle, but that's just me.
I agree , I would not place a deposit for truck that could never arrive. Stuff happens! Should a train derail and your truck is destroyed...do you get your money back? That’s between you and your legal team.
Putting a deposit down is not that big of a deal, do it with a credit card. If something happens like the one posters long wait it shouldn't be that big of a deal to cancel order (it hasn't been picked up yet) and get deposit back. If the dealership gives you greif just file a claim with the CC company.
This day and age with the internet buying anything should not be hard. If a person isn't willing to travel some then you are stuck with the crappie service near you. Traveling might not be convenient but make it a short adventure (vacation) .

But you know what is less of a big deal than putting a deposit on a CC?
Very ture but not all dealerships will do that and that should not stop the deal, your going to give them the money soon enough. With so many tire kickers out and about that change their mind at the slightest breeze it's understandable why they want a deposit. Just my opinion though.
So the plot thickens. I called two other very large dealers who told me either a) Ford is stopping production of the 2021 which is why it hasn’t been picked up or b) they’re facing delays and they could *maybe* pick my order up in a month but a lot of options are delayed mid-year. I guess it may not be my dealers fault so at this point I guess I’m stuck.

Item a) is definitely not true. 2021s should still be rolling off the line through May.

Sorry, I’m not that trusting but I see your point.

Either your dealer has no allocation (most likely) or they're just idiot's and serving you kool-aid that you're willing to drink.
Seems to be plenty of us that ordered a month after you that have vin and tentative build dates.
So after a call this morning...I suddenly have a VIN. Still no order date but at least it’s progress! Any way to tell when the VIN was actually generated from that page?
Once you get the VIN issuance week , you can get approx build week in blue oval forum. Look at production scheduling charts from ice- capades. Find chart for week your vin was issued. Build week will be shown for super duty. Mine was per the schedule
