Hello all,
I am waiting for my 21 F350 Tremor to be built and want to know what the general opinion is out there for undercoating and rustproofing. I don't want to apply any if possible but want it to last good. I just got rid of my 2014 F140 FX4 and had the rust module on this with no rust whatsoever. Even on the bottoms of doors... Now, I keep it clean and since we are in Southern Ontario we have lots of road salt but it never is allowed to linger long on my vehicles. On the F150 I did have rust forming around all the welds on the frame (no undercoating). I have been in collision and autobody most of my life and never put much weight in the rust modules but always recommended Krown rustproofing. With all the new tech on this truck I don't want to rust proof spray. Should I get the module? Should I get the undercoating on the frame?

I crawled under and sprayed my 2017 with Fluid Film. I just traded it in December and it had little to no rust at all and they like coating the roads in NJ with brine whenever they can. For my 2021 I wasn't laying on my back spraying that stuff again, so I had it sprayed with Fluid Film while I watched this time. For $200 it's worth it and I'll probably do it every 2 years.

I coat all of my vehicles with Woolwax before they see any salt and they have never had any rust on them. I’m in Western New York and the salt is on the roads from November to April here. Vehicles I have leased and didn’t coat looked horrible after the 2nd winter. Not necessarily the body but the undercarriage was covered in surface rust.
I had a rust module on my 2015 GMC sierra. I had my door sill repainted when the truck was 6 months old because rust bubbled through. My frame was recoated 3 times for rust. They simply do not work. There is no way they can work unless the vehicle is submerged in water like a boat. It's just science.
I saw a car a few years ago with "protected by final coat rust module" sticker in the window. the rust holes were so big I could put my fist through.
I am also in southern Ontario. I just "Corrosion free" rust spray with the spray gun. I have had much better luck doing annual applications with that stuff. Krown or rust-check would be similar.
