New to site and need help with my headlights
Both low beams are out and no power to fuse 46&47 inside(no fuses under hood) 2002 f250 2wd 7.3 ps
high beams work
If the low beam is not burned out on the bulbs. and you have checked fuses 46 and 47 and there is no power at those fuses, it is suggested that the problem is in the multi-function switch area per.... 'just ask Ford'. This is the signal light lever. there may be a short is the wires in the steering column. check the connectors at the signal light switch. Look to see if any wires are pulled out of the connector. if not unplug connector and look for evidence of melting. If the starting to melt you may/will have to replace the connector and the switch. If the connector is good then the switch most likely needs to be replaced
Thanks for your help, replaced the multi function switch with one from Napa PN# DL6599 for less than $100.00 I replaced the switch about a year ago with a motorcraft from Rock Auto, wipers stopped working then. Hope this switch holds up better. Ford didn’t have it in stock and cost was $200.++
I was leaning towards the VSM cause lights first out when in the auto setting but would still work on manual
Once again Thank you for the help
So after replacing the multifunction switch yesterday still having some issues.
I drove an hour this morn with no lights on and door locks would still work
Driving an hour back this evening turned headlights on with automatic switch, they stayed on about 1 min and went off came back on in manual setting. Drove home and door locks would not work
I think something is overheating the VSM when the lights are on but not sure what it would be or is the VSM just failing?
I had the same problem about a year ago. Under the hood by the small relay box between the air intake and the fire wall you will see a plug that doesn't have anything plugged into it. I have no idea what it is but the wires inside are spliced together. On my truck they came apart and caused my low beams to stop working.i splice them back together and put some tape over it and been working fine.
