No High Beams

No High Beams

I was hoping someone could help me with this problem I am having with my 2006 SD. I don't have high beams, but low beams are fine. The high beam indicator light on dash comes on when I switch to high beams, but headlights go out. When I switch back to low beams, lights come back on. I have not checked the bulbs yet, but hard to believe that both high beams burned out at same time.....or is it?

I am pretty sure there are 2 fuses. One for low and one for high beams. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, check fuse #7.

It should be a 10A smaller size fuse, I had this happen to mine. Later.

Thanks for the help guys, but it turns out both high beam filaments were burned out or should I say broken! Low beams were fine. I could not tell this until I pulled the lamps and tested for continuity. Filaments looked fine otherwise. These were the new Silverstar 9008 lamps for the 2006 SD. Never had both high beams fail at same time before. Are these Silverstar lamps more fragile than the stock lamps? You know these SD's take the road bumps pretty hard!
