My truck is just a couple weeks old. Going through the manual I came across the keys and remote control section.. Page 57.. It states : Your vehicle keys came with a security label that provides important key cut information. Keep the label in a safe place for future reference." Did anyone with a recent purchase get this security label? Can a new key be cut without it? I plan on calling the dealership on Monday but wanted to check here first. Thanks
All my other trucks came with that info. For my new Tremor the dealer lost the manual and second key. They will get another key, bit now I don’t have the stock door key code. I haven’t asked them about it, but will when the new key arrives.
I couldn't wait until Monday so I called today. I was told by the sales manager that the dealership has a way of getting the key code information if a duplicate key is required. He couldn't understand why they still have that printed in the manual. I ordered another remote that comes with the blank key. We will see what they are able to do. I think I'll call the service department on Monday to see what they say and to find out how much it costs.
I had a 3rd remote fob from my 2017 truck, I just programmed my 2020 to see it. Had the dealer cut a blank to fit my doors as part of the deal.
Nothing changes in the Key Fob when you program it. What you are doing is programming the truck to recognize the new FOB.
I had purchased a FOB from a salvage yard. It came out of a totalled truck. 5 minutes and it works just fine in my truck.
Your key code is all over the place. If memory serves its on the door panel behind the plastic panel. It’s also up underneath the glove box on a sticker.

On old trucks it was like that. The new trucks required both keys to show the door key code on the dash.
Dealers can get key codes and cut a new hard key by entering the vin in their system.
When my dealer cut 2 spare keys that I provided for my new 2020 F350. He came back from parts Dept with the key cut code written on a piece of paper for me.
With my 2019 F350 they were able to cut keys just using my vin number.
Recently my friend’s dog locked himself in his minivan with the engine running. The dog stepped on the lock button on the arm rest. We called the local Chrysler dealership explaining the emergency and I drove him to them. After showing his car insurance card with vin number to confirm ownership, they immediately cut a temp key blank for him to unlock the van at no charge. Now he carries that temp key in his wallet in case the fog locks himself in it again.
