Coded Keys
Ford dealership quoted me $225 for a new key for my truck but will give me a discount for $150. I guess the second key they had to take the chip out of it to put in the remote starter. Is there any other way to get a key made for the ignition that doesn't cost over a hundred dollars?

have fun. it's specifically worded for a 04-08 F-150, but 99% applicable for your 09+ F-150's.
just read that section of your owners manual for the coding part. I'd bet money though that the process is identical. Ford likes to keep things easy
btw, $225 or $150 is utter bull****. I can get you a new key and a new remote for under $30 off eBay. Brand new. $2 to cut the new key and you can do all the programming yourself in the parking lot.

hell, for about $45 I can get a Key/remote combo key that is OEM
the only trick is that you must have 2 keys already programmed. if you only have 1 key, you must pay for the programming service. which is about a $50 charge
