The torque app combined with a bluetooth or usb dongle will allow you to see misfire counts live, per cylinder, on a screen with the engine running, so you can step on the gas and see which cylinders might be misfiring under load, or idle, etc, conditions.

This did not work for me, even after injecting a code and looking at the resulting readout.

First make sure you went into the settings and added the FORD preset pids it offers.

If V10, then take the cylinder 8 pid, copy all its settings, and iterate the PID up by 1 to add cylinder 9, and 10 to their own new pids, so you have all 10 available.

So what i did, was you add all 8-10 cylinders to an empty screen in torque, it gives you like 6 screens so just pick an empty one. leave all other gauges off that screen.

Then start and run the engine, the CEL or SES lights will not change, but the app will start showing mis-fires if they are happenning, you will see the counters on each cylinder go up a little at a time as they happen. play with the throttle, drive around a bit, maybe some WOT taps.

worked fine for me.

Thanks all for the replies, so mines did not give me a check en light. I said I had a multimeter because I thought you could check the coils with one. So what I ended up doing was since i was on vacation i did not have all my tools. I turned engine on and disconnected one coil pack at a time I would here the engine idle charge then plug it back till one of them did not change anything it was coil #1 . So the first one did not change idle speed. I also touched the injectors and they felt cold so I figured gas was going thru. I also disconnected the coil and notice no spark while the other had spark. The spark reminds me of a MSD box it was bright. So it looks like it's multiple sparks. At the auto part store I asked for the code reader and the codes said misfire in cylinder 6 1 9. I bought a coil from advance auto came with boot put it on cylinder 1 and problem fixed. Thank you all
PS: I will be changing them all

That’s great you were able to fix it and get back to enjoying you vacation and not have to worry about your ride, and to top it of, it was one of the easiest coils to change!

Thanks for sharing.... It is encouraging to see some Old School mechanical thinking solve an issue like this.
