Converter Shudder or something else?
I have a 2000 Ford Ranger 3.0 that has been giving me all kinds of problems recently but the one bothering me the most is what I'm thinking is the torque converter. Problem has been for about 2 weeks. When I'm first taking off from a stop it shakes like a misfire but if I give it a harder acceleration it smooths out. Also while cruising as soon as converter lockup happens it starts to shake the truck. I'm not sure if the 2 issues are related but I'm thinking they are. I also feel it if I power brake the truck, it shakes like a misfire. I changed the trans fluid and new filter and I also put in some little tube of additive called instant shudder fix or something along those lines but it still happening so I'm wondering if it may be something engine related or do I need to change the fluid again? It's always had a rough idle too but the idle while stopped in gear is really rough now as well.

I was looking past that being the problem because of how it smoothed out under hard acceleration and only shaking during converter lockup. What would cause it to misfire during those conditions? coil or plugs? the wires are also brand new

When you first take off the converter is not locked. When you power brake the converter is not locked.
It could be coil, plugs, wires, injectors, wiring to the injectors, or something inside the cylinder. It takes some diagnosis to determine the actual cause.
