I recently rebuilt my 04 f150 5.4 3v ran great first 100 miles then the pass side started rattling bad if I keep the rpms between 1500 to 2000 it seems to go away if I unplug the solenoids it rus great replaced both after a fresh oil change ran good for a few hours then back to rattling on code I get is for pass side over retarding when the solenoids are plugged in im not sure if I got a bad phaser or tensioner any tips before I take it apart and leave my self with out a truck for a while
Rhats what I'm leaning towards they are the plastic ones that came in the kit I got to overhaul the motor I thinking about going to the cast iron ones and possibly metal chain guides if I have to take it that far apart
