Cruising down to Cali
Hey friends I'm going to be spending Christmas in Oceanside with the family this year and I was just wondering what you guys are paying for diesel over there. I'm driving over from central AZ, currently paying about $2.45 for diesel. Will I get pulled over for not having mudflaps on my lifted truck? If some smoke comes out of my tailpipe is that an automatic ticket? Thanks for any input.

This is a bit too late for you to apply for now, but check out the TSD Logistics fuel card if you travel a lot with the truck.

I use it all over the country and save .25 - .50 per gallon on average. That is a lot of money when filling up 75 gallons of fuel.

This is a bit too late for you to apply for now, but check out the TSD Logistics fuel card if you travel a lot with the truck.

Having an out of state license plate while in California will get you a ticket.... Not IF you get a ticket, it's "How Much" the ticket is going to cost you.... OH, and about that face mask.... Next comes the Mask Police.... LOL

Sounds like I'm going to end up a wanted man in Cali, definitely won't be paying a ridiculous ticket. Just won't cross that state line after I come back lol

You shouldn't have any trouble with flaps and a puff of smoke now and then.
But if I were you, I'd write off the trip. The infection rate here is through the roof and ICU space is down to nothing.

OP no worries, occasional smoky exhaust only a problem while getting a smog check. Costco membership makes a big difference in price, diesel $2.91 today in Sacramento area.
If you carry check the CA laws.

Thanks for the info Y2K. That being the case I'll fill up some fuel cans and hopefully not have to fill up over there. Should be doable as I averaged 22mpg on my last out of state trip unloaded. I was pretty pleased with the old 7.3.

Wow that's a huge difference from the standard. Unfortunately no costco membership as the nearest one to me is 1.5 hrs away. Won't be carrying this trip.
