Small coolant leak
What is this part called that the thermostat mounts to? Its on a 2006 Explorer. Every vehicle i have has the thermostat on the water pump. In the one corner you can see a small coolant weep. Thanks in advance.
The infamous PLASTIC ThermoStat Housing!
Yours has a SingleClipMountedTempSensor & ForewardFacingTopCoverOutletRadiatorHoseBarb.
These FactoryOE\AfterMarket PLASTIC Housings are well known notorious leakers.
Best to replace\upgrade to an Aluminum ThermoStat Housing & new ThermoStat Valve.
Your local parts house will likely set a cheap PLASTIC housing in front of you
& does not stock Aluminum Housings; online RockAuto\Amazon\Ebay have them with price comparable to Plastic Housing.
Several items look rusty\crusty; Michigan winter road salt?
If any of your Coolant system Hoses, HeaterControlValve,HeaterCore Pump+Fan+Clutch, Radiator...
have never been serviced\flushed\replaced, it's time. The hoses+clamps look original.
While replacing the ThermoStat Housing, is a good time to replace the OilPressurized TimingTensioners;
that left TimingTensioner looks original?

When 4WD is OFF, power is to the rear.
When 4WD at 4WH, power is to all wheels with hi gearing; ok for higher speeds.
When 4WD at 4WL, power is to all wheels with lo gearing; lo speed driving only.
