I have a 2017 Lariat with heated and adaptive steering. The heated steering is not working this fall and am leading to believe the module is bad. I cannot seem to find any information as to where it is located. Anyone have any ideas?
Nothing in that thread about a module being located remotely. According to the Ford dealer there is a module based on my vin. Supposed to be in on Tuesday. Just not sure where it is located.
The module is located behind the the knee pannel on the driver side behind the metal plate. The hswm is located in the area with the red circle is. The module in the picture is the spotlight modle but the heated steering wheel module is located right next to it.
Are you sure it’s not the element in the steering wheel? I have adaptive steering too. Just went through this and they replaced the wheel, on my extended warranty. Ohm out the element to ensure it’s not broken. If you have a dealer or extended warranty you can trust, probably best to start there. Just cause the safety issues with airbags and clock springs, very specific safety procedures.
no warranty for me, plus I worked on Ford trucks until 1999 when I crossed to the dark side and got into sales. I just don't want to believe it's the dang steering wheel, it's so expensive with the adaptive steering in it LOL
