Unhappy No Power

Hey guys, I just father just gave a 1994 Ranger XLT with 5 speed OD Manual Tranny, V6. I can't get the truck past 60mph and it takes it a while just to get it up to 60mph. The truck feels like it gets power than it loses it and makes a puttering sound when i floor it. Sometimes it goes up to third gear real fast and just has no power after that. I'm thinking it's the clutch losing friction or the fuel injectors are shot. Any ideas??

First, welcome to FTE!!!!

The first thought, is to change your fuel filter. My 2nd thought is
to scan for codes.........

One other thing to remember, you will need a special tool to change your fuel filter...Pepboys should have the Ford Fuel FIlter
tool also.....

Welcome to the FTE Ranger Forum!

You don't say how many miles are on the truck, or what engine it havs, so it's hard to give any specific suggestions ...generally speaking though, it sounds like yor truck could use a full tuneup.
