It is hard to tell without an itemized list of parts and the labor time but I too strongly suspect that the diagnosis is inaccurate. Head gaskets do not cause smoking from the tail pipe on these engines but failed EGR coolers DO! Often removing and inspecting the EGR valve is enough to diagnose such a failure but pulling a vacuum on the cooling system with a cooling system air-lift tool is more or less definitive.
Head gasket failures are indicative of aftermarket tuning and turbocharging over boost conditions caused by sticking VGT vanes and out-dated OEM calibrations.
please help, I have a 15 6.7 powerstroke. It’s now cost me 6500 for a supposedly blown head gasket. The kicker is I paid for new heads instead of machine work and they have gave me the truck back twice now and still smoking and losing coolant. My personal email is 86camarochaos@gmail.com. Truck has 80k well the long block does
has anyone checked the pax side intake manifold. on 2015 models...there have been cases of cracks
other than that....not sure if starting a new thread about this would be helpful
the ford 6.x engines have been historically expensive to repair and a lot of folks throw them over the fence once the warranty runs out....so it being 2020....most likely everything 2015 and prior is out of warranty.
sounds like you should take your truck to a ford commercial truck center.
